Arijit Singh (born 25 April 1987) is an Indian playback singer, composer and music producer from Jiaganj in the Murshidabad district of West Bengal. He sings mainly in Hindi and Bengali and is one of the most popular voices in modern Indian film music.
After appearing on the reality show Fame Gurukul in 2005, he spent years as a music programmer before his playback debut with "Phir Mohabbat" (Murder 2, 2011). "Tum Hi Ho" from Aashiqui 2 (2013) made him a household name, and songs such as "Channa Mereya", "Agar Tum Saath Ho", "Gerua", "Kesariya" and "Apna Bana Le" followed.
He has won two National Film Awards for Best Male Playback Singer ("Binte Dil" and "Kesariya") and eight Filmfare Awards in the same category, equalling Kishore Kumar's record. The Government of India awarded him the Padma Shri in 2025. He was Spotify India's most-streamed artist for seven years in a row (2019–2025).
On 27 January 2026 he announced that he would take no new playback assignments, while continuing to make independent music. In October 2026 he announced a nine-city India stadium tour for 2027 to mark 20 years in music.
