Dr. Ragini Sonkar was born on 11 December 1990 in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. She comes from a family with a strong background in public service. Her father, Kailash Nath Sonkar, is a former Member of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly.
A qualified doctor by profession, Dr. Sonkar completed her MBBS from R. G. Kar Medical College and Hospital, Kolkata, and her MD in Ophthalmology from AIIMS, New Delhi.
She is married to Dr. Sambit Malik, who is also a medical professional. The couple got married in February 2020. Despite her busy political schedule, Dr. Sonkar continues to show deep interest in healthcare and social welfare activities. She believes in combining compassion, education, and leadership to bring positive change in society.
