Early Life and Family

Mukesh Ambani was born on 19 April 1957 in Aden (then a British crown colony, now in Yemen), where his father worked at the time. He is the eldest son of Dhirubhai Ambani, who founded Reliance Industries, and Kokilaben Ambani. His younger brother is Anil Ambani, and he has two sisters, Nina Kothari and Dipti Salgaonkar. The family moved back to India, and he grew up in Mumbai.

• College: St. Xavier's College, Mumbai
• Degree: BE in Chemical Engineering, Institute of Chemical Technology (UDCT), Mumbai
• MBA: Enrolled at Stanford University but withdrew in 1980 to help his father build Reliance
