Pankaj Chaudhary, born on November 15, 1964, in Gorakhpur, is a prominent figure in Indian politics and public service. Currently serving as the Minister of State in the Ministry of Finance since 2021, he has been a steadfast representative of the Maharajganj constituency in the 17th Lok Sabha, securing his sixth consecutive term. He was first elected to the 10th Lok Sabha in 1991 and then to the 11th Lok Sabha in 1996 and the 12th Lok Sabha in 1998. However, he lost to Akhilesh Singh of the Samajwadi Party in the 1999 General elections. He later won the 2004 Lok Sabha elections.
In 2009, he lost again to the Indian National Congress candidate Harsh Vardhan from Maharajganj. In 2014, he won from the same constituency and is now a member of 16th Lok Sabha.[4]
He became Union Minister of State (Finance) in Second Modi ministry after the Cabinet reshuffle.[5]
