Early Life and Family

Prabhas was born on 23 October 1979 in Madras (now Chennai), Tamil Nadu. His family hails from Mogalthur, near Bhimavaram in Andhra Pradesh's West Godavari district. His father, Uppalapati Surya Narayana Raju, was a film producer, and his mother is Siva Kumari. He is the youngest of three children, with an elder brother, Prabodh, and an elder sister, Pragathi. He is the nephew of veteran Telugu actor Krishnam Raju.
