Sonu Sood Early Life

Sonu Sood was born on 30 July 1973 in Moga, Punjab, into a Punjabi family.

• Father: Shakti Sagar Sood, who ran a garment business in Moga and died in February 2016
• Mother: Saroj Sood, a professor, who died in 2007

He later named his production house, Shakti Sagar Productions, after his father. He often credits his mother's habit of helping others as the inspiration for his charity work.

He studied at Sacred Heart School, Moga. He then completed a degree in electronics engineering at Yeshwantrao Chavan College of Engineering in Nagpur, where he also met his future wife, Sonali. After graduating he moved to Mumbai to pursue modelling and acting.
